For this class, the children spent a bit of time looking at Kandinsky's paintings and learning about the artist. We talked about how his work developed and how he loved using bright colours and simple, abstract shapes. Then we got to work!
First we sketched an image on half of our paper then on the other half we redrew the same image in simple shapes.
Then we tried out different watercolour techniques and made a swatch sheet.
Finally, we moved onto our own Kandinsky inspired watercolour paintings.
